Yes and it's coming from a Prog Reviewer. That is not an acceptable review, I think.
This one neither :
Review by Vibrationbaby I dunno when one of the most prominent players in the band doesn't like the record then there is something terribly wrong. Roger Dean couldn't even make this thing work. Richard was even more pissed at this than Tales From Topographic Crap. When I went out to buy this record it was even more dissappointing than Love Beach. Love Beach was a piece de resistance compared to this monumental disaster. Tomato is too good for this piece of rot. This is when Richard became my hero. Not just an ordinary here but a GOD. For the second time he quit the band after this qualified [%*!#] up. I was considering junping in front of a Metro after listenining to this contraption. If you can believe it I have 5 copies of the bloody thing just to torture myself. Just to torture myself. 90125 is not even close to the badness that this record propogates. The worst Triumvirat record beats this piece of trash by light years. Richard did not return to the band for years. I am so glad that he threw a tomato at a tomato album. |

^ How many sincere reviews about Rush and Yes do we need to read till we are about to gouge our eyes out with the computer mouse thingy. Lighten up guys, its Ian, one of the few on the site with a sense of humor. Mischief is important, read The Man Who Japed by Phillip K Dick, you'll enjoy it.
Re A Persons report: the man has poor english, thats OK by PA rules. He's trying to be funny and ironic and it ends up being a linguistic train wreck, I find it very enjoyable and amusing. Check some of the above posts if you want examples of stuff that gets deleted. Its not dependent on review quality as much as violations of PA policy. Edited by Easy Money - July 22 2010 at 21:21 |

^I understand where you are coming from John, but still a 'review' is meant to say at least something about an album, those reviews by Ian do not say anything.
I've read funny reviews that still talk about the album like those by Micky. Edited by The Quiet One - July 22 2010 at 21:27 |

I agree with Pablo. I mean, if that's the case, why not just pen a bunch of inoffensive, unrelated one-liners and call it a review? Maybe someone could write a 5-star review of Selling England By the Pound and just talk about how his day went? Or maybe the review guidelines should be revised so that they require reviewers to actually...I don't know...say something about the album. That's why reviews are weighted more than mere ratings- because we can read a justification of said rating. |

Exactly. Forums are the place to be funny guy, not reviews. Humor is
OK so long as there is an attempt to provide something resembling a real
review. People coming here not familiar with member personalities
would be wondering why collabs were writing something like that.
Edit: oops, sorry to be "discussing" in the "reporting" area. Will stop now. ![]() Edited by Finnforest - July 22 2010 at 21:56 |

Well I'm open-minded, we'll try to get a second opinion from another admins or two. Also, we should let Ian come by and speak for himself before I go dumping his reviews in the rubbish.

not an Admin but I'm for keeping it, though I admit it doesn't service the music itself

I have an honest question. In regards to the "Show respect for other reviewers, readers, the artists, and the CD and song titles" along with the "use "one" and "five star" ratings very sparingly" would my most recent review of Soft Heap's Al Dente be considered acceptable? In my opinion, the album is very subpar and legitimately deserves a one star rating but obviously others may disagree. I have also poked fun at a song title as well as the album itself in a bitterly sarcastic way. Is anything I've done offensive or innapropriate? I really try to encorporate humor into my lengthy reviews so they don't become boring and such but what exactly is breaking the rules in regards to that?
Sorry, this recent conversation has piqued my curiosity.

I didn't even cross my mind that it should be deleted or anything when i read it.He is talking about the album and in doing so tries to come up with some creative ways to trash it.

I agree with the guys who wanna get rid of those reviews. They are humorous, but people looking to get into the album will not be helped by them, and I think they are useless. It's like if I did a review of SFaM review and just said "This album is a masterpiece" then filled the rest with quotes from The Simpsons.

Excellent review, you are a good writer. By the way, is this how you trick people into reading your reviews .. ha ha .. "oh dear, I'm afraid I've broken some rules, could one of you kind dears please lend a hand .." |

Oh nono! Sometimes I get worried about the "speaking my mind" approach I have to reviewing albums is too indulgent or something. Considering how I sneeringly bashed that particular record to the ground I was a bit worried when I saw a record bashing review of Tormado (or however you spell that) get reported.
I promise I wasn't intending that. Though, I have to admit that was a good joke you made. |

Nah, the reason that review is controversial is that it fails to really describe the album in any way other then saying how bad it is. |

^ Agreed! On this one, he doesn't even mention the album in a meaningful way. Humor is one thing, but this is too out there.

hey, can some-one please delete the lasts reviews of this man Vibrationbaby. His last review on Supertramp's Crime of the Century is a mess as well. With his reviews on the front page new visiters of PA might get a wrong impression.

Sorry, i am no native speaker(english). The guy not only talk about being under LSD when hearing a supertramp-concert (his problem), but even worse, for me he seems to be under influence of LSD when writing the review, i can hardly understand what he is talking about. |

Is he on LSD25 when he writes these reviews? ![]() Seriously, I think someone needs to have a "talk" with him. To think that reviews like this are coming from a collaborator is almost sickening. |
