I'd really love to see The Flower Kings come back with another album.  I haven't really dug Roine's other projects as much and I think the last album by The Flower Kings was their best one ever.

You're not alone on that thought, I think there are a bunch of us that are eagerly awaiting a new Flower Kings CD.  I like "The Sum of No Evil" though there are a few of theirs that I prefer.  Regardless, I still want more.  I had the chance to see them a few years ago and would absolutely love another chance.

I've seen them live 4 times, the last time in the front row at a very small theater.  They do put on an excellent concert.

I would love a new TFK album, even though I haven't gotten all of their albums yet.

So, has anybody listened to The Black Forest yet? If so, what do you think?

Well according to the recent TFK article in Classic Prog magazine, Roine is sounding more like it's a possibilty for next year. I think he just wants to be sure that everyone involved has their heart and soul in the project and aren't just hired hands.

I'm sure that Jonas and Hasse would be involved but I'm concerned about Tomas. There seem to be some issues there which I don't really understand. Still, I asked Tomas about this on Facebook the other day and he's aware of the clamour for a new album. His exact reply was:

"Yes I know...I guess there will be a time 4 everything"

Smile

Is anyone else "friends" of the guys on Facebook by the way? It's great seeing regular updates from Roine, Tomas, Jonas and Hasse on there.

Yeah, I'm "friends" on FB with all the Flower Kings (that are on FB, at any rate........this includes Zoltan and Michael Stolt.....haven't found Salazar though).

Of course, I'm hoping for another album in the near future, but I've heard a lot from people close to Roine and the band that Roine is quite happy with Agents and that this is where he feels he is at musically.  Though they also say he's never shot down the notion of another Flower Kings album.  I hope we get one, but the more time that passes, the more I wonder if it will be the same band if/when that happens.  Just a thought.

As to Agents, I'd suggest to everyone that you MUST see them live to really understand just how great they are as a band.  Both albums had the same initial effect on me.......okay, but not really moving me like other Roine and FK projects.  Then I saw them live, once each album tour, and was completely blown away.  The albums have a much different effect on me now.  I still would have to say that the Flower Kings studio work is much better, but live I'd say they are easily in the same league, no question.

^ Ooh, I'm interested in hearing the new album now.  Anything involving Ryo is at least worth a listen to me.  Once it's out, please give us the details.

Tomas is a facebook friend of mine too and I actually saw your question and was going to post myself.  I didn't put two and two together at the time and decipher it as being you, but I guess your facebook name is a pretty fair indicator it is in fact Nov of thiis thread fame/notoriety Wink

Like the other guys, I have each of  the band as friends Embarrassed.  I actually found Jaime Salazar too but as his page is not in English I didn't go there.

I'll probably get The Black Forest in due course but I'm not busting a gut for it to be honest.  Their first two are good albums but nothing really special and I'm a bit surprised Roine is so overboard on AOM.  Neither of the albums is anywhere near as good as even the weakest TFK album, in my humble opinion.
