Yeah I dunno...I'm just not the Zappa freak I was when I joined so I would just go by my own name.

Cool then. As for me I'm still the burrito freak. Big smile But who know maybe eventually I'll change it just like you guys. I just love it. It sounds so unique. Anyhow I just finished listening to Meshugga's I 21 minute song and my ears hurt as hell.Dead I need some post rock. Maybe some Eksi EKso then. Smile

Not a bad band I must say and their name is kind of cool after all post rock bands have come up with some of the best band names in history, but certainly not my kind of post rock.

Seems like this thread is taking quite the beating...I'm just trying to make sure it doesn't reach the second page.Wink

Anyways...anybody heard the new God Is An Astronaut? Their full album is free for streaming in last.fm. Anyhow I think its kind of enjoyable though it still can't top their "All is Violent, All is Bright".

I've only loved their All is Violent, All is bright album. The other ones just sound a bit boring. And yes I read your reviews. Sounds fair. I'm working on the Farmer's Almanac review soon. Not what I'd expected but indeed worth getting. The release that I'm waiting for would be the one from Biclops. Now that one is totally gonna kick ASS!!!WinkLOL

The new GIAA is beautiful as expected :D I don't like nearly as much as their last album though.

I've been listening to the Math Rock band "This Town Needs Guns" alot recently. I usually don't like vocals in my Math Rock, (or at all truly) but they don't spoil things much.  Anyone else a fan?

^ Thank you :D

I remember when i first heard the vocals, i rolled my eyes and thought "oh boy...", but damn... I've been addicted to "Animals" lately. They've got some seriously beautiful compositions going.

One good thing about the album having vocals, (which i like now that i'm used to them) maybe some people that don't have the attention span for instrumental music will be be open to experiencing some premium Math Rock :)

^ I've actually kind of reversed my original thoughts David. They are about 50% of the way there, but it might be a bit of a stretch to call them MR for now, so I agree with the decision. Can't wait for the next album though, hopefully that will be enough to prove 'em worthy or the archives.

Post-Metal

Hey,
I have a ton of Post-Rock but very little Post-Metal and I prefer PM over PR. The problem is that the PM section is like 80% Experimental Metal and 20% Post-Metal. I only know of Isis, Pelican, Indukti, and Kayo Dot. Can you guys recommend some?

^ Check out "Ocoai" if you haven't already: http://www.myspace.com/ocoai

They're probably my fav. new PM band of this year, and "Breatherman" is easily one of my fav. albums released so far this year. They're also more of a traditional PM band, like Pelican, than experimental.
