This is pretty wild. Great stuff. Also, I really like Grupo Um's third album. The first half is super unique for 80s jazz fusion.

EDIT: Well that album took a sharp right turn hahaha

Grupo Um, huh? Seems you're really into brazilian oldies.
Also, check this band. They will play the next gig with us. Amazing music. Really loved them.

Heh. You may not know this, but I play guitar in a band with a few students here from Brazil amongst other places and we cover Milton Nascimento and Lo Borges and stuff. Even some Brazilian boogie lol. Nothing that experimental, though we done stuff like adding free improvisation sections. I've just been interested in the vanguarda paulista side of things lately, particularly because of the last Elza Soares and Kiko Dinucci albums.

I've just been interested in the vanguarda paulista side of things lately, particularly because of the last Elza Soares and Kiko Dinucci albums.

Ohh... Clube da Esquina was a great scene too. My favorite from them is Beto Guedes.

Check this guy:

We've actually covered both of those guys lol. Good stuff. Beto Guedes has some of the highest highs for sure. Borges' A Via-Lactea is probably my favorite album from that scene. Toninho Horta's first album is also pretty neat.
