Bwahah, you've discovered my Kryptonite, my friend!

Have you heard `Talk' or the `Keys To Ascension' albums by Yes?

Or.....`Open Your Eyes' - Now that's a generally despised Yes album that I can sometimes be a little forgiving of. I'd love to know your opinions on that one!

Ah Yes. Keys to Acension. The 4 disc set that is a series of live concerts and shows some promising improvisational skills in 1995-1996. I've had this one in my amazon cart for a while, so I cannot give my full opinion on it just yet.
I heard some of the first disc and the sound quality is really quite good. Also, I really like Alan White on Drums but I prefer Bruford. I will be buying this set soon though. I'll let you know when I get my hands on it and really sit with it.
:)

I've got the `2 studio, 2 live' Ascension disc sets as well, but I think the studio discs have since been reissued as an album on it's own retitled `Keystudio', with an additional few minutes or something? That might be the cheaper alternative? The live discs are very nice if I recall (haven't spun them in years), but probably not worth specifically tracking down.

It (Keys To Acension) has been reissued more conveniently. Also, to be honest, TALK and OPEN YOUR EYES are hard to get through. They are too Big Generator like and the balance of Prog and pop is totally lost I think.
This is why I really like ABWH cause its got a better blend between the pop sound they wanted to incorporate with the sophistication of progressive tendencies in the music.
Do you really dislike say, ORDER OF THE UNIVERSE? I think it's a good blend.
Anyway. Keys to Acension has my attention. I'd like to hear more YES improv. :)
