its good neither of you are women. this way its impossible for you to reproduce, spewing kayo dot hating offspring to infect the world with bland musical tastes.

But we both like Kayo Dot so naturally we would brainwash our offspring into mimicking our every taste.

For those who haven't heard also,
Isis have announced the name of their 5th studio album to be "Wavering Radiant" , the wiki is here, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wavering_Radiant Didn't realize Adam Jones guested on it. ![]() |

Sebastian, going into a thread called Post/Post Metal/Math Rock and not liking Kayo Dot is blasphemy, and I mean blasphemy not in a good way either
![]() Goddamn, I can't even go a week without listening to Kayo Dot, they really are that awesome IMO. |

Double pumped for Isis now! Please don't let it be like in the absence of truth.
Sebastian, Choirs of the eye took me six months to get into, and now I think it's the greatest album made. IMO, the single most inaccesible album I've ever heard. If you think there's hope them, please don't give up on that album.
Finally! The other Cult of Luna fan on the site is actually speaking on this thread, I'm not alone! WELCOME!

Within the first day I heard Choirs Of the Eye, I knew I liked Kayo Dot.
In fact, as soon as I finish listening to Through Silver In Blood in 2 minutes, I'll put on Kayo Dot ![]() |

Haha, I take it that's me. Thanks! Glad to be here discussing the good stuff with you guys.
Why aren't there more Cult of Luna fans? They r00lz. Somewhere Along the Highway is probably my favorite post-metal album of all-time. Salvation and Eternal Kingdom are no slouches either. I highly recommend that everyone at least check out Somewhere Along the Highway (I saw that Pat got a copy - good choice!).
On that note, Choirs of the Eye was the easiest album for me to get into regarding Kayo Dot. When I first heard it I hadn't quite refined my tastes and I didn't really give it a fair listen. After enjoying the first half of Dowsing Anemone, I put Choirs on again and I fell in love immediately. I think Dowsing Anemone is more difficult to get into because of the last two tracks (but I do advise that Sebastian listen to the first half, or at least "Immortelle and Paper Caravelle," as that is one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard) and Blue Lambency Downward is even more so. It's all good though, especially after multiple spins.
And I'm going to go ahead and say it: In the Absence of Truth was flippin' great. I don't want the new album to be "like" it - naturally I want to hear some more progression - but I'm more than happy with them continuing down that vein. Edited by Moatilliatta - January 27 2009 at 01:49 |

Chris, I'm the same, I really enjoyed In the Absence of Truth, not to the extent that I enjoyed Oceanic and Panopticon, but I still think it was really good nonetheless.
And CoL= pure win |

as i said mono are awesome but that album with world's end girlfriend ,didn't imressed me much, too many string instruments involved, too melancholic, album is not bad ,maybe i should listen to it few more times ,who knows!
about the discussion of kayo dot , i have to say that ''Dowsing Anemone With Copper Tongue'' is not an easy accessable album , too much avant stuff there, I like Madlin of the well more, great music. about isis , in absence of truth is stunning album, i like panopticon also. |

I'm a newly accepted Cult of Luna fan. I have to expand my collection rapidly. Choirs of the Eye wasn't too difficult for me to get into, but probably only because I had heard Dowsing Anemone about 50 times before I heard CoE. When I first heard DAwCT I didn't enjoy a minute of it, but its one of those albums you can just tell you're going to love once you break through the obscuring surface. Once I did I couldn't stop listening to it. Still took me like 12 or so listens of CoE even after that though to really start loving it. |

Yes, I gave it my first listen last night and felt similarly unimpressed. Trailers 3 and 5 were excellent, but the other ones just seemed too minimal, and too long, though still not bad by any stretch. I'll need to give it a few more listens.
