I always thought of Deep Purple's s/t album to be a winter album, especially because of the first 3 songs.

As for Fall and Winter, I head to this albums (don't ask me why):

  • Tull: Best of Acoustic Tull
  • Tull: Roots to Branches
  • Peter Gabrial: Passion
  • Fairport Convention: Liege and Leif
  • Fairport Convention: Full House
  • Anything by Jansch and/or Renbourn.

I guess I need to get my Folk on!

Its lacking the sort of colour and vibrancy of the earlier albums that would place ELP as a Spring/Summer band. By Works it was all very serious and arty and a bit down. Works II was probably more the ELP we expect with more colour a fun. Perhaps Spring like. I Believe In Father Christmas sparkles on that album although lacks the intensity of the original (and best) release.
