I don't know how they ended up in neo-prog long ago. I think the crossover tag did not even exist back then, it was just "art-rock" which split  in crossover and eclectic. 



To be frank, I think the old banner looked a quadrillion times better than the one we have currently. IMO the retrofuturistic grid look with the musical instruments far in the background displayed a lot more class and elegance than the badly photoshopped characters cutout from prog album sleeves with that cheap white glow effect this site uses now. Sometimes less is more.
