Tool is good... Too "NU" for me (specially aenima, Lateralus much better, 10000 days inconsistent). But POS, on the other hand, is a FANTASTIC band. I haven't heard scarsick yet, but let's see: Entropia, a good debut; One Hour(...), a fantastic album if a little noisy; The Perfect element, marvelous record though for me it falls down and crashes halfway through... Remedy Lane, a MASTERPIECE, among my top5 of all time; 12:5 a incredible acoustic rendition of music that at first hand doesn't seem too "acousticable" (?!?)... Finally, BE... a thesis made into an album, a whole philosophical approach to life by Gildenlow with good music (not during the entire album I must say, there are times that make me yawn...)... All of this shows me POS is, in my eyes, the far superior band. Though I insist, Tool is very good. Just too "NU".

I've heard all the Tool albums and only two by POS (Perfect Element and 1 Hour by the Concrete Lake). I prefer POS but both bands are great.

Tool only because of Lateralus...they could not release the worst albums ever and POS their best works to date...and I still would have to give it to Tool, just because of Lateralus
on a side not, I really like POS

No love lost to Tool though as demonstrated by my last.fm stats

If Remedy Lane is the best POS can deliver then I gotta vote for Tool.

These two bands are very close in quality, as supported by the poll results right now (an exact tie as I type this).
I voted for Tool, only because Aenima would probably make my 10-albums-on-a-desert-island list, while nothing that POS has made would. I still like POS though, even Scarsick, which half of the fanbase seems to hate with a passion.

You know I was about to consider voting for PoS on this poll until I remembered their latest album release, it's disgustingly bad! So I'm voting for TOOL on this one since they don't have any weak albums at all.

You just dont seem to get that good music takes time. I posses the album for 3 years now and I am realising just now how big it is. How great it is and what the concept is all about.

Tool. I still dig PoS though, it's just that Tool 'does it' for me to a much higher degree.

Pain of Salvation and Tool haven't got much in common, however i believe pain of salvation is a far more complex band than tool. Tool has many experimental/industrial interludes that don't really conform with what music generally is considered. Pain of Salvation sticks to music in what is considered it's purest form. Tool are way to avant-gardist from this point of view.
