The 'Almost Vote' almost went to Giraffe, though at the last minute, I realized that I'd simply be voting for them as I enjoy some of Kevin Gilbert's music.  I'd never actually heard a Giraffe song.

With that being said, Fish gets a vote.  13th Star is a great album and the song Darkstar is absolutely fantastic.  It's been in heavy iPod rotation since I first heard the song.

Also, Hoggwash gets a vote.  I'm just getting familiar with them, but I like everything that I've heard by them.  They remind me somewhat of Sylvan.

My familiarity with Kevin Gilbert is limited to a Toy Matinee CD that I purchased long ago and I suppose the Mark Bonilla CDs, although I am not certain what his contribution was on those.  He seems to be really well-liked within these forums however.

I haven't acquired 13th Star yet.  I don't believe that I have seen it yet where it wasn't being sold as an import, and I am just too cheap for import prices.  I will have to check again because I do like the Fish solo albums that I do have and it certainly seems that many like his new one.

Hoggwash sounds very interesting.  I really like Sylvan, so that comparison really piques my interest.  Being from the Ukraine, they will probably be even harder to track down.  Here is a thread that ProgJester started that suggested their inclusion on PA.  Very interesting indeed.

I can now say that I have Fish's 13th Star, and that it is quite good.  I was able to order it from Amazon for a decent enough price.

Also, since I like to add links to other threads that talk about the bands listed in these polls, here is an old, hardly touched thread that discussed Fresh Maggots.  It still sounds more like the name of a metal band than a psyche/folk band.
