1. Pawn Hearts (Man Erg)
2. Still Life (Pilgrims)
3. Godbluff (Sleepwalkers)

Funnily enough i don't see many mentions of Man Erg, one of the greatest prog songs of all time. I'm quite upset Cry

Interesting; I've always considered the vocals on The Least We Can Do as a bit of a pre-cursor rather than themselves impressive... not the same sort of sense of exploration, in my opinion, and though the overdubs are getting there, the later ones are a bit more sophisticated. Like those on Darkness, Out Of My Book and Refugees quite a lot, though.

All opinion though, and I know James is firmly in the opposite camp.

Oh sorry, I meant this ->   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WDmhP6YiN6s       Beat Club   recording,  there he sings very great.  In the studio he sounds a bit "thin".   A great song though,  especially the "flying in pitch, flying in fear"  sequence.
Also,  the bass  fits very well to the music - too bad that "Pawn Hearts"  doesn't have a real bassist.

It's amazing that House with No door has such a high recommendation! I dont mind the song but i thought there were so many better tracks from that album. It goes to show you that it is all a matter of taste and I can appreciate that each track must have its own specific place in the individual's heart. Also Refugees is interesting as a very quiet side of VDGG. So you like the more contemplative side of VDGG whereas I like the all out assault of Killer, POLHK, and D11/11 to name a few

I agree that Man-Erg is stunning.

The first I heard this band was on Youtube plague of Lighthouse Keepers (in 3 parts from Brazil TV) - i have been hooked ever since.

1. H to He - Pioneers over C (but Lost and The emperor are so briliant too).
2. Still life - La rossa (My room and Still life also amazing).
3. World record - Murglys III (my personal favorite VDGG song).
4. Pawn hearts -  plauge ...
5. Godbluf - Arrow (all other songs pretty cool).
6. The least we can do .. - After the flood (Darkness and White hammer also great tracks)

I also have Aerosol, The quiet zone and Trisector but we still geting to know each other. I don't have Present (interesting nobody mentioned it).

Where is Baldfriede ? This thread can not be completed without her choices !
