Soft Machine....Magma is so hard to find here in the states. I liked what I have heard from Magma.

Although I respect Magma. Third is my second favourite progressive album of all time. |

On the strength of Two, Third and Bundles and Floating World Live (not that one, four, five, six and softs aren't great too)...gotta go with SM. Never been a real Magma fan, although Udu Wudu is kinda cool in spots, the rest i've heard from them just never really clicked with me.

I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?

Okay, okay, you twisted my arm -- Magma it is. This little beauty bears repeating in this thread.

Toughest poll yet.
I really love Soft Machine's Third, but overall Magma is better imo. |

Soft Machine?
Magma all the way. And for those who have not explored much Magma because of high cd cost and low availability, Amazon now has a huge Magma collection for MP3 download at $0.89 per song. Which is really cool considering some of the best stuff are the live tracks that are over 30 minutes each. |

Tough to say. I have only two albums from both, I guess, since the poll won't last for ever, I need to see which band I'll feel more keen to start listening to.
Seeing the results of previous polls: go TD! go, go, go, go, go!!! Edited by Ricochet - October 04 2008 at 11:36 |

Further proof that geeks like Magma --> http://www.myspace.com/magmabootlegs
And one for parents who go overboard with Magmatising their kids (I'm sure everybody must know this by now)--> http://youtube.com/watch?v=52vhtwuGjOA |

I won't say how I voted - it will only spoil the tension.

Magma: Köhntarkösz is one of the greatest masterpieces of prog. Besides, I like the better part of their music more than Soft Machine's, but that's a matter of personal taste.

Aargh, dammit! Can't vote. (Yes, yes, I know... "Must listen to Soft Machine"!)
But the results in this series so far are... interesting. Is Alex 'massaging the statistics' to get the results he wants? Or is he bribing the electorate?! Or perhaps he's just using good old fashioned Mind Control (très Vanderesque of him!). We Shall See! Zëbehn Says "Vote For Magma Or I Unleash The Ultimate Weapon!!!"
