My sentiments exactly ...
"Death to Utopia! Death to faith! Death to love! Death to hope?" thunders the 20th century. "Surrender, you pathetic dreamer.”

"No" replies the unhumbled optimist "You are only the present."

Nights In White Satin - Moody Blues
Kentucky Woman - Deep Purple

"Soon" by Yes would've made the list if the re-edit that appeared on The Ultimate Yes had been originally used.

I was going to answer Halo of Flies by Alice Cooper, I have that single...then I saw your post and it's allmost exactly as I would have posted...Insert Deep Purple - Child in Time (which has been released as a single with part I on the first side, and part 2 on the second).

I've got Yes' cover of the Simon & Garfunkel song "America" on 45.  I can't remember what the B side was though.

This was the first song that come to my mind when I read the title of this thread... It's one of the most succesful songs in mainstream and one of the most unique pieces in prog rock history... a masterpiece on it own... ClapClapClapClap
