Snow Goose ranks #1 on my list of Camel albums as well (around #30 on my list of Prog Albums).

Both are excellent albums. I slightly prefer the song-writing on Moonmadness, though I think the Snow Goose has a stronger artistic vision.

Yes, both are really good, but I'll go for Moonmadness, simply because it was my first Camel album, and I love it for very personal, sentimental reasons.

I can't stop listening any of the two once started. For its nature Snow Goose has more ups and downs, but I like the same all the first four Camel albums. Rajaz is at the same level.

"Moonmadness."
Wouldn't it be *awesome* if in fact the band had recorded a vocal version of "Snow Goose" as they had intended, and would see the light of day sometime soon?
I know this band gets knocks for its vocals, but there's something magical about the vocals on this album.
The best album Floyd never made? perhaps.

Snowgoose for me. However, If you had asked: Snowgoose, Moonmadness, or Mirage, I would've chosen Mirage.

I'll take snowgoose, although I think it's a bit over rated. Its got 3-4 solid tracks but lot of it is filler IMO. I'll take Mirage, Rain Dances or the self titled debut album over both anyday

Both great albums. I also like most of what can found on the first few albums (another way of putting this is that I'm quite happy going through discs 1-3 of the recent box set, while disc 4 (which is to say post- Nude) puts me in iffier territory).
Still Moonmadness definitely feels like their best work to my ears.

Snow goose is the very peak of Camel's career... a particularly good rendition of it can be found in "A Live Record" with orchestra and everything!
