There are a couple of tracks I could do without, but it's mostly great.

I bought their debut on vinyl last weekend :D

Clutch - Book of Bad Decisions: Haven't listened to these guys in decades. Damn have they aged well, as this new release feels contemporary in that it can't be pigeonholed. It's heavy with plenty of groove, but it's also super smart and even funny rather than depressing. It's like you want to punch a wall, but not because you're mad, but because it seems like a reckless fun thing to do, and you were going to make a new archway out of that wall anyways.

PS: this access denied thing for no reason is annoying...such a glitchy site.

Thumbs Up  Gotta have some Hot Bottom Feeder!

Over the past few days:
Le Orme - Uomo di pezza
Mott the Hoople - Mott
Jon & Vangelis - Private Collection

It's been a while since I heard it but I remember I liked that version of "I Can't Quit You Baby" more than the original.

The version on Coda is a recorded rehearsal sound for a show at Royal Albert Hall in 1970. So basically it's not a new version, it's the band getting ready for a live performance LOL

Been struggling with my back lately so haven’t really posted here.
Yesterday though was a very nice day of music after I got home from work. Listening to music was basically the only thing I could muster...dinner was comprised of a banana and some cake. Yup that’s pretty wholesome right there!

Camel - Moonmadness
Sun Ra - Atlantis
Ulver - The Assassination Of Julius Caesar
Dead Can Dance - Dionysis (first spin and I’m hooked!)
Ingranaggi Della Valle - Warm Space Blue
Moogg - Italian Luxury Style
Didier Bocquet - Voyage Cérébral (I spin this far too seldomnly. Berliner schule fans should most definitely take a listen)
Phideaux - Infernal

Well I never heard anyone say "Bananas and cake are bad for your back!" so you must be on the right track (although it sounds like a potential Ween song title)...and I need to check out the new DCD it seems. Last time I saw them was in 2005, great show except nothing from the 80's besides "Severence" (some goth girl near the front row kept yelling for "Mesmerized" between each song...give it up already).

Last couple of days:

Daughters - You Won't Get What You Want: Modern day noise rock featuring some cool occasional keyboard accompaniment and tricky time signatures. There's a bit of a debate concerning their potential inclusion in this site. Whichever way it winds up, this is one hell of a sonic experience.

Big Black - Songs About f**king: One of those legendary album covers, practically supersedes the music to some degree. Really gets going with "Bad Penny" and gets a little more bizarre as the album rolls. Funny enough I never owned this one in my younger days for some reason but I sure knew that cover.

Big Black - Atomizer: So this was in my collection back in the day, and it certainly holds up...even the Roland drums. "Kerosene" and "Jordan, Minnesota" still make me want to blow stuff up, but lately I'm really into "Bad Houses". Such an atmospheric number on such an abrasive album. More industrial sounding than a lot of industrial tagged bands.

Killdozer - Little Baby Buntin': Oh boy. Here's an album that would have gotten me tossed from my home as a youngster, and now it's something I could never play around my family. What makes it work is the audible hate-filled vocals, like a pirate that's never seen the ocean. Noise rock madness.

Twice - Yes or Yes: Thanks to my curious binges on Spotify, I get some odd recommendations. Apparently this is the current hottest Kpop girl-group, and it's really lame outside of the opening spoken word bit featuring the line "So what'll it be, yes or yes?" I can imagine some woke meninists getting pressed.

CCR - Green River: I was playing this in the car with my kids in the back seat, and "Lodi" really got to my 10 year old son. Got tears in his eyes even. Not sure how much of the lyrics he could decipher, but "His voice sounds so sad!" That and the down-beat folk-rock is a potent combination. Power of music.

edit: apparently "keronese" is a word?

First edition CDs?
I've noticed lately in comments that many people say they prefer the original (first) CD pressings of old albums over the later shiny spiffed-up remasters.  It makes me want to do some comparison tests.

I was  reading about LZ Presence and notice that many guys say the Barry Diamant original is heads and tails above the new and later reissues/remasters.

That did indeed sound like a Ween song!!
T'was a very successful dinner.

DCD is an old acquintance of mine but I have never seem em live. Somewhat of a bummer as one of my faves of theirs is Toward The Within. New one is two long cuts filling up an LP side each. Only heard it twice but it feels like a musical continuation of Serpent's Egg/Aion with more of a grandiose gist to the proceedings.

Credence is very nice in small dosages I find. I tend to spin Ramble-Tamble if I need some Credence.
