I only just heard of Marco recently after someone (Austin?) posted a video of him playing.  But knowing he's SW's drummer makes me all the more excited to see the band play.  I've got my ticket already, playing in about 3 weeks at my favorite local venue (small, easy to park near, and close to a couple of cool record stores).

Sounds cool.  The closest he gets to here this time around is Cleveland on a Thursday night.  Only about a 2 1/2 hour drive or so if I felt up to it.

Glad you're looking forward to it 'cause you defenitely should! It was probably the best soncert I've ever been to, although I haven't been to too many. And Minnemann, I didn't know much about him either, except for some video (probably the same video you saw) and that I knew he played with Guthrie Govan (which was excellent too, btw, he just didn't have too many moments to shine) on The Aristocrats first, and so far, only album.

An old colleague of mine, which I went with to yesterdays concert, had given me the heads up on Govan. He saw him live for the first time yesterday, and he was quite happy with what he heard from Govan, but what really impressed him was Minnemann.

Yeah, it was cool, Scott, it really was. I highly recommend you take that 2 1/2 hour drive to see them. I think you'll find it will be worth your while.

Yea i linked the Marco video, sadly he's obscure because he doesn't really play for any big names for anyone for that matter consistently. He's still great. My favorite drum performance from SW's solo work is still No Twilight In The Courts of the Sun.

Yep.  I kind of miss the days I cared more about college basketball.  Back when I lived in Chapel Hill, it was on everyone's minds, and everyone was either a UNC or Duke fan.

I think it will be at Phillips Arena, which is connected to the CNN Center, where my wife works.  So she'll probably be stuck in traffic a lot when the time comes.

edit: nope, it's at the GA Dome (where the Falcons play), so it'll be a little ways further down the road.
