I like these kind of things, as long sa they stay out of my backyard. 

Chupacabras actually means goatsucker in English. When I was 10 years old or so there was something about them on the Discovery channel, and it freaked me out completely. They are said to be around somewhere in Mexico iirc, although nobody has been able to prove their existence. But farmers have found their goats being sucked empty, hence their names. 

In the documentary thing they were not presented as these kind of creeps but rather as huge bat-like creatures.

I remember when I watched the movie Signs when I was 9-10 I couldn't sleep for weeks. I will never watch that movie again.

One of my favorite stupid things people actually believe is the Black Eyed Kids, although fan death is absolutely the worst thing for someone to ever believe.
