Warning: Adding some prog metal from 1990 to the mix.

Mind Over Four "Prayer for the Dying" (from the album The Goddess)

I would say they are alternative metal, but they are on PA. 5 albums and 17 ratings.

Do you mean from the NERDIEST OF NERD PROG ALBUMS letter options in the poll now? If so, I'm sure he'll be editing out the letters that form that message and adding our song choices later. Two votes already for "Choose wisely".

If I hadn't participated yet, I would lurk to put mine after the 24th contender. LOL

Yes, I didn't want to add them right away. Didn't want votes to accumulate until we had a healthy number of choices.

^ Not my poll, but the album that "Cicadas" is off only has 6 ratings in PA, so I can't see why it wouldn't. http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=3799

Now, by my own standards, I can't vote for yours, since I know it.  Nor Raff's.  But I love both of them before listening to anything.  So both would have been contenders, no doubt, had I not been familiar.

Now I usually love what I've come to enjoy as your taste in music, quite looking forward to hearing this.

I liked the song. I imagine htere will be a couple of others who will, but other than that, no...

^Yeah, I figure it would be for a limited audience. Good band. This album and the one after were their best. I think the guitarist was later the touring guitarist for KMFDM.

I struggled to come up with a song, there were so many choices, I thought of progressive metal as well, but gave up on the idea. Embarrassed

You can always go with experimental/post metal or tech/extreme metal. Wink

Though why there are three categories for metal is a question.
