At last! Peter Hammill announces remastering of his solo work on his homepage:
http://www.sofasound.com/latest.htm

Only the first solo "Fool's Mate" had been remastered so far. As Peter states he will remaster the solo Virgin (incl. Charisma) catalogue.

What will happen to the latest work on small labels like Fie! - I don't know.

However the vast Charisma - Virgin material will profit highly from remastering. What a lucky day! Can't wait for the releases.

Great news, I've been waiting for this day!

I already have his first five though, I guess I'll just have to get them again (minus Fool's Mate) of course.

I shall have a look and see which albums are getting the treatment.

I've spent far too much money this month already...

Would this include "Fall of the House of Usher"?  If so, will it be both versions?  I want to try and get hold of both versions, I don't have either yet.

May friend will be pleased, he'll be able to get a re-mastered "Nadir's Big Chance", or I can just give him my original!

I think Iwill get SCATES, CITSOTN and In Camera>> I was wise enough to have waited so long that I may just get the Japanese Mini Lp >> even more expensive but so much worth it

I'll pass on Nadir and Over>> Although Over still has two of his best tracks ever and my fave solo track from him>> Time Heals

let's just stay above the moral melee

keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword

I'm about ready for a remaster of PH7 and Sitting Targets, myself.  Great news!

It's a question of money...

I have up to Nadir's (not including Fool's Mate) as non-remasters..., so do I buy Over, Ph7 and the others before buying remastered versions of the others?

Chameleon will sound so much better remastered, so I may get that, but I only got it recently and it took me ages to get it!  Came from Germany I believe.

No - Peter Hammill's own Fie! label owns this. The original version was never re-released.

The Virgin catalogue goes up to Sitting Targets or thereabouts, I think - not sure about the later 80s releases.

Thank you Duncan.

Can we expect extra tracks, or just better sound quality do you think?

I shall be waiting with baited breath.

Guess I should've waited a little while for the remasters!  I just bought In Camera and The Silent Corner & The Empty Stage a couple of weeks ago.

Do you know which albums will be remastered?
How can I be free?
How can I get help?
Am I really me?
Am I someone else?
