Without doubt, FII. this is their "poppiest" album, and that is not the dream theater sound. some dream theater work is cheesy beyond belief, and this album is a prime example. It wasnt a good time for the band anyhow, with all the conflicts going on with their producers....this one is hardly prog enough with the exception of hells kitchen 
there is no spoon...

I think Falling Into Infinity is their worst album, but its not a bad one. All of their albums are amazing, but this one is not their strongest. Songs that bring it down are "take away my pain" and "anna lee"... others like "you not me" and "hollow years" I find good but no great. All the others songs are awesome, my favorite being "hell's kitchen"/"lines in the sand".

Any one who says DT isn't prog is in denial, yeah they're cheesy but they help bridge the gap between metal and prog metal.

Dream Theater is my favourite band but I have to say that "Falling ubto infinty" is their worst album. Derek Sherinian was a very bad choice.

I wonder if you read the lyrics and tried to understand the whole story........

I think there's' an incredible cohesion between music and lyrics, and with all the prog rhythm inside, I wonder how a prog-fun can say what you are saying.........

That's easy. A Prog Fan just has to use his/her/its fingers and his/her/its keyboard to say something against this overblown, nonsensical, incoherent Images and Words-Roger Waters-Kansas-U2-Rush-Zappa-reincarnation bollox-cover album and its schmaltzy singer. One of the most overrated hoaxes in the history of prog.

"Falling into Infinity" was very disappointing but at least it had "Lines in the Sand" (wonderful).

Hollow Years is a great sounding song. One of my personal favorites on my third favorite Dream Theater album
