Very true, not a flashy pyrotechnician but a very subtle, sensitive and understated player whose contribution becomes an inseparable part of the composition.
Check out his drumming on the McDonald and Giles album (well worth the purchase)

Nice. Giles, Giles and Fripp's version of I Talk to the Wind was the only other Mike Giles I have heard until now, but I'm giving McDonald and Giles a listen on Youtube-- great stuff

Would he be the same as the "Narada" Michael Walden on Fripp's Breathless and also of Mahavishnu Orchestra fame? If so, he is awesome indeed. All over the place good.
