For the amount of touches he's going to get with Ray Rice running the show, it's a pretty good signing I think. Cotchery will be a good pick-up for whatever team signs him. Really underrated player.

Must suck to already know you're losing two games to the Eagles again.

Understand the sentiment but why the quote? Not like Boss is the sole thread holding the Giants together We all do miss him though, Eli even championed his return and he never says a word. I have faith in Giants management/coaching to always fill voids and make generally good decisions but I'm pretty let down with this one. Also they are trying to keep Osi on and motivated to play, like including an opt out and incentive triggers. Not a bad idea.

Yeah Cotchery is a good receiver, but there's questions about his back injury still. Must me bad/unsettled since he was beloved in NY. Speaking of unhealthy receivers I'm very concerned for Steve Smith. The Giants coulda picked up Braylon for dirt cheap and fill the void of Smith if needed/have another target.

I just mean that it's yet another thing that the Giants have loss in the offseason on top of everything else. Centric to Boss though is the fact that 1) TE have historically destroyed the Eagles, though probably not this year since Namdi will be covering them. 2) More importantly it would seem that the Eagles biggest defense is the power run game. The two things boss does best are run blocking and pass blocking. I think his loss will hurt you the most there. His recieving was kind of limited by the fact that he dropped like 15% of passes thrown his way. I think the incentives are a bad idea for Osi. He's already a selfish and undisciplined player. If you include incentives to pay him after 13.5 sacks, there's no way he maintains his gaps instead of recklessly rushing the QB.

I didn't even think of Braylon to the Giants. That would seem to make a lot of sense actually. I know they were in cap trouble though. I'm not sure what the situation is now. Yeah microfracture surgery is a bitch. Wonder if he'll ever be the same.

I don't know how big of a difference it will make, but the first 3 Lions' draft picks this year were all injured within the first week of training camp, with the running back LeShoure out for the season with a torn achilles tendon. Not a very good start to the season to say the least. 1st game is Friday night against the Palmerless and Ochocincoless Bengals.

They just signed Harrison and Bell. The former is a really nice pickup to backup Best. The latter is what I assume is just to add depth. If that's the case then its also a good pick-up.

It's not funny to tear your achilles tendon but the situation is just a bit humorous. Lions still starting off fantastic when people are actually giving them some credit this year!

Jerome Harrison? I love that guy forever, he won my fantasy football championship for me.
And I see Pat. Like I said at first, I am pretty peeved they let Boss go. He is a competent receiver and his blocking is great, the team will miss him for sure and there's no real replacement. Not one fan I've encountered yet is happy at all about his leaving. Braylon signed 1 year $3 mil. That must be affordable for the Giants. At least there is Nicks and Manningham. I'd sign Boss even if it meant missing on Braylon.
And the Osi thing is becoming a mess. There are 3 options: Trade him for whatever you get, work some deal with his contract (taking a year off, incentives, opt out etc) or keep him on and don't use him. Just pick one. If he plays he needs to be motivated and not a distraction, or keep him off the field. I almost said cut him, but if that happened and the Eagles, Cowgirls or Skins picked him up I'd kill myself.
So yeah, I'm confident in the Giants team even for replacing Cofield and Osi, but losing Boss was a mistake. I hope the offense is more in sync this year, because if Smith can't return they'll need it. Eli ate all the blame for those 20+ picks but that is not too accurate. Bradshaw needs to cut the fumbles, some replacement on O-line. This is a transition year for the G-men with 10 wins at best.

Shame about LeShoure, I liked the idea of the Lions having a nice power back. Sure Mike Bell but eh... If Stafford is healthy the Lions really have no excuse to fall below 7-9. The problem about having am up year Scott, now they are expected to continue

It seems like we were banking on resigning Mason for less money and didn't really think we were going need to shop around for another experienced, capable WR.I have seen some talk about Lee Evans of Buffalo being considered too.

Ray Rice is the man and Ricky still has some in the tank, all the time off and weed has kept him fresh. Rice and Williams would be a great 1-2. Lee Evans is a damn good receiver, great pick up for whoever lands him.
Kinda suck it's to the Eagles but I'll only be pissed if he actually burns us. We all know about the injury and the fact he was released tells me he must have not been progressing well. If there was any good chance for him the Giants would have held on. You'd think even if he needed time to get back to speed. They didn't even trade anything just a straight up release. My hopes aren't high for him.
If he is successful though talk about a stupid move! Maybe they just couldn't hold onto him fearing he'd be no good so they freed up cap space. I can't believe the cap situation was so bad. I'm not as pessimistic/angry as other Giants fans but this has been Jerry Reese's weakest off season without doubt!
Edit: That was all rational of course, gut reaction to Smith: hurts bad. Bred and raised a Giant, had a big role for the SB run and I liked him. Not big or very fast but he just got it done and was a catch machine. On third down he was money, pretty much a guaranteed conversion for Eli always. Much as I don't want him to help the Eagles at all it would hurt to see his career end on such a bad note.

^ I'm just happy that the Ravens decided what they needed to do to finally beat my Steelers was get rid of the two players that have supplied almost 100% of their offense against us for the last.....however many years Heap has been in the league.
Oh, and to answer Equality's question about what backs my thinking that Vick will regress this year: I've watched him play.

I've seen his entire career, albeit not every game, and last year stands out as more of a fluke than anything else. He has always been all legs and will continue to live and die by the running game. He was a terribly inaccurate passer before prison and I'm simply not going to get sucked into trusting his arm based on last year. I also see defenses and defensive coordinators catching up to the Vick-shtick after having seen it all last year.

There's a clear difference between him in his early career and last year. I've watched the Eagles games from last year over and over. He clearly played worse at the end of the season, but it wasn't that dramatic of a difference. He played pretty well in the playoff loss. There were a lot of problems on the Eagles' team last year that led to the disappointing season and offensive struggles.

Used to be a big NFL fan back when I was into sport back in the day....can't watch it now - the average televised NFL game runs over three hours, but during this time less than 20 minutes of actual football takes place. I think it was actually more like 12 minutes of play - from whistle to whistle of each down.....a real drag, but a great way to sell all sorts and sizes of trinkets and junk food. The college game is much better in this regard, but it's also heading the way of the NFL, which brings up the old question: Should NCAA football players be allowed a share of the millions they bring to their schools? Should they be paid?!?!?

Is there any interest in a PA fantasy football league?
