Nobody has mentioned the Japanese band Bellaphon yet, the true Camel's clones.

If you are interested in a newer band, you might like Gekko Projekt. Conor did review that compares them to Camel. http://www.progarchives.com/Review.asp?id=785966

Pulsar's album The Strands Of Future is one that's reminiscent of Wish
You Were Here (the length). Drums are solid (like The Snow Goose).
Vocals are a bit shabby, but not much singing going on. Nonetheless, the
singer is a calm one. Saying this because everything that's decently
like Camel has already been said. The Snow Goose is probably my favorite
album ever, so you know this album's good
![]() And the guy who said Gotic, there instruments sound just like Camels. Also, is your picture supposed to be a drawn Hunter S. Thompson? It really looks like him in his older years. |

Pulsar's albums are so expensive. I really want Pollen, Halloween, and The Strands of Future but they're out of my price range.

For CD they're pretty cheap, and this website http://www.discogs.com/Pulsar-Pollen/release/1459059 not sure if they have Halloween and Strands, but Pollen is fantastic too. You learn to like the singer too. He has his good and bad moments. |

Anyone mentioned Kaipa yet? Their first 3 albums are like the Swedish answer to Camel.

On CD (my preferred choice for listening to music), they're expensive. Like $20 an album. I'm not going to say that I'm completely new to seems a little excessive to me. And since I don't do the whole download thing, I'll just have to wait to hear them, though I have heard they're music via YouTube, but I know the CDs will sound so much better obviously.

Then it depends on how much you're willing to spend on an album. Make sure it's worth it to you for $20! Slowly buy each one. That's what I did.

got into camel a few years ago and then kind of fell out of love with them - remembered them sounding quite cheesy and dated. but just stuck a best of playlist ive got on my 'pod - IM IN LOVE AGAI.
I always find last.fm a good source of stuff that is like a band. it shows similar artists, plus if you click the artist radio button you get loads of tracks from similar artists. additional - just reached the snow goose tracks in my playlist - skip, skip, skip until the moonmadness tracks. never liked the snow goose Edited by dazzammm1 - October 06 2012 at 13:18 |

There is some former Camel around.
Try Colin Bass, Jan Schelhaas and Ton Scherpenzeel. I've already mentioned Kayak and Bellaphon in previous posts

Honestly I don't see any Camel in Kaipa's music. It's not a band which works much on me.
