Albums I've listened to today:

This was one crazy listen. Dark, almost completely classical.

Not too bad. I had heard a few of the songs live and on live dvd's. It will grow on me as I memorize it! LOL

Love this.  What are good, similar bands?
I'm rather new into that sort of style, but i can recommend the band Ride, and their album "Nowhere" Approve And of course, My Bloody Valentine "Isn't Anything?". Not as good as loveless, except a few songs, but still worth owning!
Noisy, experimental, cute, jangly guitar post-something alternative rock Tongue

Apparently the genre is called "shoegaze", and apparently these two albums are #1 (Loveless) and #2 (Nowhere).  At least according to the Nowhere page on Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nowhere_%28album%29).  Will definitely be on the lookout for that one!

Interesting I'd never heard about these bands or this style at the time it originated.  Guess I was too busy getting in to prog at the time!

Me neither! I stumbled across it completely by accident. For years I could never understand why the music was never released...Shirley Walker's score is perfect for the series. Shame it was cancelled...ah, the curse of Fox. Firefly suffered a similar fate unfortunately. Seems they prefer reality TV garbage and Fox "News" to stuff of actual intelligence. Dead

There were two versions of the soundtrack, this one seems pretty much the same, with maybe a few track variations:
