2 of the bands I've never heard of either but the songs are in my collection. LOL eMusic gives a free daily download so I've downloaded a bunch of stuff just 'cause it was free, and a couple of the songs made it in to the last rotation.

Another great selection Scott. It features Saxon, who were one of the metal luminaries featured on BBC4 television's Metal Britannia which we watched last night. All the greats were on and it was a hugely entertaining 90 minutes of music documentary with Halford, Biff, Lemmy, Iommi, Ozzy, Uriah Heep, Diamond Head to mention but a few.

That sounds cool.  I somehow missed Saxon during my metal listening days.  I remember the name but I guess that they just didn't really make much of a dent over here in the USA.  I've picked up a couple of compilation albums from them that I have enjoyed, but otherwise I am sad to say that I really am not that familiar with them.

Based on what I have heard, I don't doubt that at all.  They definitely seem to be right up my alley.  Or at least they would have been 20 years ago.  LOL

Absolutely, and the joy is that they are still touring (although whether they get to the States is another thing).

I saw them at the height of the NWOBHM (New Wave of British Heavy Metal) era, and they were fantastic.

For the second time tonight, I have to post.......................Happy daysBig smile

Nice list!

It's action -- reaction
Random interaction.
So who's afraid
Of a little abstraction?
Can't get no satisfaction
From the facts?
You better run, homeboy
A fact's a fact
From Nome to Rome, boy.

And with that we have my next batch.  Started off proggy but then sort of mostly went in a different direction.

Holy gosh, you've got the awful Mindflow in your list... I reviewed their latest effort, Destructive Device, for Progressor, and all but ripped it to shredsWink. If I want to listen to Dream Theater, I'll listen to Dream Theater - not to a bunch of their clones with a singer that makes LaBrie sound like Ronnie James Dio! I'd rather listen to Krokus big time.

The MindFlow was a freebie from their website.  I've actually not listened to it yet, aside from that randomly picked song.  Beavis and Butthead aside, I used to like Krokus in my metal listening days.
