Just saw ad for Death album being released October 25th, including previously unreleased live concert. I imagine that this is exciting news for fans of such music.

Bof. I would have prefered to see live albums released when Chuck Schuldiner was still alive.

I love some Death, but not lately. Only Human, Individual Thought Patterns, and Symbolic are worth listen to, IMO.

The ad was for Individual Thought Patterns. I guess it is being remastered or remixed and then they are adding the unreleased concert material to it to encourage folks who already own it to buy it again.

I hope they turn up the bass on the remaster. Steve DiGiorgio is an amazing bassist, but he's completely buried in the original mix.

I've never actually heard them. I have just assumed that they aren't my type of band.

Their last 3 albums were pretty darn prog IMO. But if you don't like growls, then I'd recommend their last one and none of the others. The vocals are more thrash on that one.

What was Schuldiner's other band that was basically Death but without growls? I always forget the name and I'm busy right now.

I dunno, I remember what you're talking about, but I always assumed it sucked so I never bothered.

I read they were awesome, but I was in a death metal mood at the time.
Anyway, the other band just sounded like technical heavy power metal, so I think Scott would like it maybe.
