All those lineups produced timeless classics. There should be also Kaye/Banks/Bruford, Kaye/Howe/Bruford, Wakeman/Moraz/White in order to make all classics complete. And possibly lineup with Khoroshev)

Wakeman wouldn't be able to produce anything better than Kaye did on Time and a Word, and cannot imagine Howe would make 80s/early 90s Yes better. Given the circumstances, Rabin was the best what could happen to Yes. 80s Asia and GTR was largely a disaster, not to mention ABWH-part of Union. Every musician played his role in a right time, that's what made Yes such a great band throughout the decades. Only those attempts to return in the past (Keystudio) were rather a failure imo.

What did Kaye do on Time and a Word? I thought it had an orchestra.

What could Wakeman have done on Time and a Word that Kaye didn't do? Just listen to the title song (Time and a Word) on Keys to Ascension, which works really beautiful, and much better for my taste, with Wakeman's piano touch.

Well now I've played The Prophet after a long lay off and I still can't see what Tom Ozric is saying about Tony Kaye's Hammond organ. To me he's competing against the orchestra all the time and coming off second best. Tony Kaye's keys are far superior in the Yes debut album. Astral Traveller and the song Time and a Word are far superior tracks on their second album, but even then the Yes debut album is a far superior album. Had Rick Wakeman been involved in the production of Time and a Word he would not have allowed the desecration of the music.

hmmmm a hard choice I think white is the better rock drummer but bruford is more amazing with his syncopation ... hard decision .. I went with bruford because amazing is what he is.  Tongue so choice 1 with choice 2 closely following.
