^ Thanks for the MAGMA update i didn't know all that stuff.
Listened to AMYGDALA's "Complex Combat" today.Man this can be oppressive music, they don't let up the intensity very often.I love the fact that ONE SHOT's Daniel Jeand'heur is on this drumming, and he's killer.

Another one i highly rate is ABUS DANGEREUX's debut.Listed here under Jazz/Fusion but it has a definite Zeuhl flavour at times.Another classic from France.

Had to mention Daimonji's IMPROG tonight.Great album although i find the vocals a little difficult. He sounds like Christian Vander when he uses his high voice. Yoshida on drums here is killer as usual.

Great album but I hear more Canterbury than Zeuhl.

I just listened to their album a few nights ago and i can definitely hear a strong Zeuhl flavour.Yes it has that Canterbury shade as well which maybe why they are in Eclectic.I still think i'd have them listed under Zeuhl but that's just my opinion.By the way i think that album is brilliant.

An interview will be published with Francois Thollot tonight, London time. His new band Scherzoo (under evaluation) has just released an excellent zeuhl/canterbury album.

I love zeuhl which for me is the most progressive music of all music styles. Enough said about my strong beliefs.

Does anybody here have the most recent Panzerpappa release from 2006 called Koralrevens Klagesang? I hear a lot of Zeuhl in it alongside some Canterbury and inspiration from the early RIO bands.
I´ve been listening a lot to bands from Sweden and Norway the past few weeks, and Panzerpappa just recently got a spin again. Brilliant stuff!

BTW I have that Kultivator album as well, and I think it fits in nicely under the Eclectic moniker as it frolics in both Zeuhl and Canterbury. I love the album regardless though...

Yes it's pretty good.  I heard some of it on the radio and downloaded it shortly thereafter.  I remember paying for it though - maybe it was one of those 'pay whatever you want' type things?

I just don't like Thollot on drums, he should stick to other instruments.  That's why Contact is great, he got maybe the best rhythm section on the planet to play on it.

Listened to Soleil Zeuhl's re-issue of Four Visions by ESKATON today and was promptly blown away.I had the original with different cover art but udi Koomran has done an amazing job with the sound here. Not only that the bonus tracks are as good as the studio album in my opinion.

Almost the best. If he'd been able to get Christian Vander on drums, then he would have had the best rhythm section on the planet. Daniel Jeand'heur isn't too shabby, though.
