What? Geddy Lee is not running away with this poll?
Greg Lake gets my vote for his voice; but I think Yes composes better harmonies, and overall I like the vocals on their work much better.

Nice to see some love for Phil Collins. He really is a much better singer than Peter Gabriel. IMO, he was much better singing the Gabriel era stuff live; he had the theatricality and he didn't sound forced and rough like PG.

I don't give him credit for the Gabriel era pieces. He may be able to sing them, but he never could have created them in the first place.

I didn't give him credit for creating it, just singing it better!

Kind of a toughy, although a lot of my favorite prog bands just have awful vocals (Tangent and yes, Genesis, sorry ), but a few I really enjoy, like Jon Anderson, Ian Anderson, Steven Wilson, Mikael Akerfeldt, David Gilmour and of course, Geddy Lee. I think overall, SWilson gets the nod for me. While I love the previous vocalists mentioned, rarely am I entranced like I am with SW.

No singer is more expressive and emotional, convincing and diverse as Maestro Hammill. He will always be my favourite.
Great list to choose from - Beardfish singer Rikard S is impressing me a lot recently too.

AKERFELDT, hard not to vote for Keenan or Hammill though. Mikeal is too versatile to pass up, and damn what a growl.

Also. I'm surprised Peter Nichols of IQ is not listed on this poll.
He definitely should be in the elite company of these other singers as listed on this poll.
Just saying. It's just my small opinion. ;)

Where's Nick Barret.....
oh wait :P in all seriousness his voice fits the band well, although understandably he wasn't included.

Yup. Nick is one of Neo's best. He should be up there as well.

Gildenlow from the list, but Francesco DiGiacomo ....and Annie Haslam since you totally failed to bring in any women.

And I agree......I like the way he sings and IQ is a seminal neo prog band after all.

Indeed, I really love both singers you mentioned that are missing.
