Not on prog nation dates, I think just regular DT shows. If it were DT, Opeth, Cynic, and Unexpect in Europe......I'd probably take a plane over.

^That show would be pretty much flawless, though I haven't heard any Unexpect. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt since I've heard almost unanimous praise for their work, though if I traded them for Enslaved or Meshuggah I would be more eager to go. |

My fav from them is probably Deadlands. Desiderata I dont like so much, but new one sounds surprisingly very good to me, better than I was expecting! Today I received great news - norwegian Atrox will play on this year Brutal assault festival. I'll definitely be there. I almost cant imagine Atrox on so big fest, playing for thousands... Last year I've seen them in Slovakia, together with Vulture industries but it was small club and only 60 attendees arrived and sound in that club was quite horrible |

I'm not sure if you guys ever noticed this, but listen to Esoteric Surgery from The Way Of All Flesh starting at 40 seconds back to back with the opening riff of Bleed and then listen also to Old Days Born Anew from Silhouettes (the band in question being Textures) at about the 4:45ish mark I think, somewhere between 4:30 and 5 minutes anyway I think.

^Haha, that pun was almost funny! In any event, I think I noticed the riffs in that Textures song. I recently have been listening to Sillhouettes and I definetely hear the Meshuggah influence.

I think I finally concluded why I don't like Arsis' "we are the nightmare". It is unrelenting in its uber-technical approach; It is almost always in common time (no herky jerky prog touches/flourishes- which I NEED to keep me entertained), the bass is not audible at all. This is Arsis turned to 11, (sure their guitar skills are evident- but their songwriting skills are not) and I don't think they are treading any new ground with this release- it is just a pumped-up rehash of their previous material. I am not sad that I sold it. This is the problem I have with a lot of "new" tech bands..... they don't know how to write songs with dynamics.... of which We Are The Nightmare has zero. Its approach is similar to an Origin album- overload and overkill on speed, (predictable) sweep arpeggios and blasting....
![]() I eagerly await a new Gorguts album, if anyone can salvage (interesting) metal, it will be them. (hopefully) |

Must buy Psycroptic tickets.
Unless my luck sucks and it sells out somehow (which it most likely wont). |

And when you do get those tickets I don´t want to hear any more complaints coming out of your mouth that there´s no good metal coming out of Australia |

Hell, I never said there was absolutely zero good metal coming out of this country. Word has it that Psycroptic are super f**king tight when playing live. There's a youtube video floating about with guitarist Joe Haley doing an instructional thing+interview, the dude plays some killer riffs and always super clean and tight too. |

I have not listened to them in a while, but I recall liking the bass playing the best (strongest performance imo) and the rest was pretty standard if you ask me... not quite the band they are hyped up to be....

I had mentioned this cd earlier in the thread and I STRONGLY suggest you pick it up! (for only $6, you can't go wrong) A one-of-a-kind progressive technical death metal/experimental disc of astounding proportions...
