Live/Hhai left me a little disappointed, to be honest.

The vocals weren't as crisp and the fadeouts annoy me.

Plus I'm still not sure how much I like Lockwood yet... I mean, I love violin but I'm not sure if I like it in Magma as much others do.

At the very least the performance of Kohntarkosz is excellent, right up there with the studio version.

I love Lockwood, that's why I love Zao Live so much.

That's an excellent album.  That was the one that hit me the first when I played through all the studio releases.

Now M.D.K. has hit me hard though.

I still prefer the Retrospektiw I-II version to the studio version though.

Reasons for both:

1. I love the speech at the beginning (Retrospektiw I-II)
2. Vander's squealing is very funny (Retrospektiw I-II)
3. the dude from Weidorje's keyboard playing (Retrospektiw I-II)

Reasons against both:

1. The break in the middle (Retrospektiw I-II)
2. Lockwood's violin... I'm still not sure (Retrospektiw I-II)
3. the brass... not sure if it's affective (M.D,K. studio)

I'm downloading Retrospektiw I-II now. On Amazon mp3 it's only $1.78. I love loopholes for not paying $10/album.

Your reasons #1 and #2 against are wins for me.  From the fade-in of Paga to the end is so brilliant for me.

What is the difference between Live and Magma Live other than length?

I'm not sure myself.  There are some tracks on the 2 CD version that aren't present on the single CD version.  Also don't know if the sound quality would be different at all.  I have the single CD version, the link I posted earlier.  I honestly don't know which one to tell you to get, maybe the 2 CD one might be better.

I'll go with the 2-disc one then.
