In the west many of us take a very narrow view on how the world works. We think in terms of 'good vs bad' when in reality there are merely different and completely incompatible perspectives, which will never be fully reconciled.

Yeah, it's not so much a major victory because he was just a figurehead at this point, but no, moral relativism is nonsense.

Why? People of the world have been celebrating death for 1,000's of years. There is no right and wrong when it comes to peoples emotions....unless of course you live in a country where your feelings may get you killed or jailed for life.
History has proven their are no moral laws when it comes to war.

Yeah...

On one hand, he's completely right. On the other...

65% of people would kill because a man in a lab coat told him to.

Ugh, humanity. Dead

Eh, the planet is working hard to kill us all.  I like to believe in the inherent kindness of humanity but some days I have my doubts.

I think that's an, uh, overly broad interpretation of the Milgram experiments.

Well, today I read lots of comments of politicians (and even scarier, the CIA head) saying that "we have to be even more alert than before". Good. Patriot Act forever! The comic about the TSA people, that can go down... They will probably finally force strip search one day, since they are already starting to say that there are rumors that the terrorists have a nuclear weapon hidden somewhere in Europe....

People here say "this can be the start of something negative" but they only focus in the vindictive attacks... I would say the "negative" is that now 1) military interventions will be further "justified"; 2) people openly accept the US sneaking into another country to kill someone; 3) The "terror alert" will be even higher and liberties will not ceased to be curbed but the opposite; 4) "Guantanamo works" "Torture works" - you get the rest....

Look I'm happy they got the guy (though I would have preferred to have him captured and brought here alive) but the "peace" we are supposed to be seeing now is quite the illusion...

Well you probably shouldn't believe the Daily Fail, I can tell you that.

Osama is not really dead. It was a lookalike. He's living quietly in rural Wisconsin, sharing a flat with Marilyn Monroe.

Meanwhile Elvis is flipping burgers in a roadside cafe on route 66.

Actually it was only from 2001 to 2011. Also, that joke was painfully old 12 hours ago.

Not really. After all, humanity exterminated around 12 million people in the early 40s that way.

The truth is, obedience and conformity are necessary for social interaction. Going horribly wrong now and then is just the price we pay.

The only thing you should believe in the Daily Mail is the date - and even then, you should treat it with a great deal of scepticism.

Yeah, that's retarded, like just about everything else on Lewrockwell.com. If he were to take the massive risk of faking Osama's death, it would be an October Surprise, not 18 months before the election with plenty of time to be discovered.

Next James is going to come in here with some 9/11 conspiracy theories and I'm going to burst a blood vessel.

Not true, they're excellent at reporting the date! They're also good at dresses

Conspiracy theories aside, I'm not seeing much insanity there... Anyway, he's most likely dead, and the wars will continue and nothing absolutely nothing will have changed.

That would be even more retarded because that would be obvious.

Many times Lewrockwell.com makes perfect sense. But I guess it can't get through your fascist security doors... Tongue

Anyway, we all want to see the pictures, just like they showed the photos of Che Guevara when he was killed in Bolivia... Wink

About that, we can agree. Nothing will change with his death, as I said previously. People will not suddenly awaken to the insanity of molesting one another under guise of safety.

Still, that article was awful. Really? You expect people not to celebrate the news that the killer of 3000 American citizens, a man who has declared war on the United States, has been killed? Staged my ass. And when we can't even keep account of our nuclear warheads, we're expected to be able to locate a single dialysis machine belonging to a man with possibly tens of thousands of followers? Holy hell. I don't know much about Paul Craig Roberts, but he's clearly off his rocker.

Was it severe head trauma that caused you to enter Libertopia? Seriously, it's worrying if you're starting to embrace that sort of thing.

If the government could fake it at any time, why didn't Dubya do it on '08? Or Obama do it before the midterms? The timing makes no sense as a faked political maneuver (ignoring the obvious conspiracy problems).

I do agree that it won't really change anything.
