Buy used, it won't sound as good but you can get albums for as cheap as 2 dollars. New vinyl has such a ridiculous markup that it's not even worth it


I hate 'used' products. Also, if I were a vinyl man I'd never buy used. Far more risk involved as opposed to buying used Cd's. Vinyl warps and groves with any extended play. Risky.

Yeah, but most of them sound alright and the worst that has happened for me was that my copy of Crime of the Century was scratched somewhere during "Asylum". At worst it's a 10 dollar gamble and I don't think I even spent that much on it.

Yeah, I've bought quite a few used vinyls over the past year or so. The only bummer was Van Damme Generator's Pawn Hearts, which I actually bought on the premise of it being an original pressing and in pristine condition. It turned out sounding like the album was recorded over Lou Reed's Metal Machine MusicLOL Oh well... I shot the vendor in his toe the day after.

Now remember. Ya gotta ask yourself this question, 'I am in the business of buying music that just sounds alright or do I want to buy music of the highest sound quality possible?' for me, just 'alright' sounding doesn't cut it for me. I want the best and I believe my ears deserve that, especially for how much I love and adore music. Anytime a band/record company decides to release CD editions in either special, limited, deluxe, mega or whatever it may be I am happy spend the extra coin, especially for those 5.1 cd/DVD editions. Well worth it. :)

CD's because it's cheaper and takes less space than Vinyls.

Definitely CDs for me. As said, the quality is better although there is some special, more emotional aura that comes along with the vinyl, but because I wasn't born in that era, I'm probably not going to be as sentimental with it as those who were are. I also like how with CDs you have a sort of mixture with the physical and more personal effect of the vinyl, but like digital and cassettes, you aren't as restricted to sit in a dark room - you can go for walks with much more beautiful sceneries as you listen. If you want to though you can still really concentrate (maybe on your first couple of listens) in a darkened room. I could go on but I won't bore you Smile CDs take my vote!
