I think they just used some visual effects and editing to make Peter's return more dramatic. Not sure if dramatic is the appropriate word to use, though?   Dramatic?  Heavenly?  Glorious?  Any of those would work, though I still feel that this performance didn't quite match up to the studio version.  I think that they struggled to play this long and complex of a piece live, though I haven't heard the Seconds Out version so I'm not sure how their performance developed over the years.

Yeah, I prefer the studio version much greater. What I really like about this version, though, is Pete's story in the beginning. So abstract,creepy and humorous, it perfectly sets up for a song of grandeur and spiritual journey. I wonder if Pete always started out with that story? Also, the epic mellotron at the end of Apocalypse in 9/8 is more evident here, than in the studio version. It sounds a little bit weak and dull in the studio version.
