Clap  I was so excited when I saw that they had put the whole Shepperton performance up in one video.  Does anyone know if "As Sure As Eggs Is Eggs" was from a different performance?  I seem to sense sort of a discontinuity between it and the rest of the piece.

I know, right! There wasn't one a few months ago, but then I checked one day and someone put up the whole thing. ApproveFor sure the best Genesis video on youtube. Also on the topic of the discontinuity, I also sensed that too the first time I played it but I think it's the same performance. I think they just used some visual effects and editing to make Peter's return more dramatic. Not sure if dramatic is the appropriate word to use, though? LOL

Dramatic?  Heavenly?  Glorious?  Any of those would work, though I still feel that this performance didn't quite match up to the studio version.  I think that they struggled to play this long and complex of a piece live, though I haven't heard the Seconds Out version so I'm not sure how their performance developed over the years.

Yeah, I prefer the studio version much greater. What I really like about this version, though, is Pete's story in the beginning. So abstract, creepy and humorous, it perfectly sets up for a song of grandeur and spiritual journey. I wonder if Pete always started out with that story? Also, the epic mellotron at the end of Apocalypse in 9/8 is more evident here, than in the studio version. It sounds a little bit weak and dull in the studio version.
