I don't want to appear nasty, but I think the purpose of this thread was to discuss the magazine itself, rather than advertising flogging the things.

Aye - I agree - especially since Shawn already has a "free advert" running in "Get The Word Out" section - repetition here is unnecessary.

OK, OK...just figured some might not check the Get The Word Out section...that's all...sorry. Thought someone might want to snag some older, OOP issues...

I personally love the mag. After being a "classic" prog fan, it got me into Mostly Autumn, Crimson Sky etc, cos i YouTube any new upcoming artists they feature. I like that they do classic prog features, but i think the first few pages are paramount to the survival of the genre. After all, how would i have found District 97 without Prog?

The Yes issue finally arrived in Austrlalia a few weeks ago and it was pretty good. I know I will be getting all the issues as they make an excellent reference and there is so little on prog on the magazine shelf. Even Uncut and Mojo have been lacking lately yet in the past have had excellent prog related articles.
I look fwdto the Dream Theater issue and reading about the shock departure of a certain member...

Still too much for me to pay on a monthly basis. I'd rather spend than money on CD's. Good magazine though.

I have to agree with you. Whole hearted, no less. For a change, this CD is not a toy for my cat.

I love the British magazines that the local store gets in... I pick up Classic Rock, Classic Rock Presents Prog, Metal Hammer, sometimes Terrorizer... Mojo and Uncut on occasion (depending on the CD)... I'm not really interested in the magazines themselves, but I love the music.
And truthfully, it was Hammer that got me looking into prog. One of the first few CD's that I got had "The Best of Roadrunner Records", with Dream Theater (Constant Motion), Porcupine Tree (Fear of a Blank Planet) and Opeth (Ghost of Perdition). After hearing them, I had to hear more. And prog is like quicksand...
The store doesn't even bother putting the Prog issue on the shelf... they get only one copy in and they put it aside for me.

Bugger! Of all the issues to sell out, this is the one that I really wanted to lay my hands on. I'm guessing you can order back issues. I'll try anyway.
