LOL nice!

I wonder how Manofmystery voted in the Cynic-Atheist thread.

He was either looking for the earplugs or the noose!

I listened to some Voivod when I first joined here, at best for me it was OK. The whole TechMetal stuff I don't get, regardless Voivod nowhere near resonates with me like Marillion has.

This is a weird decision to make. I went with Voivod just because I'm a bit more into metal right now, but both are awesome.

Marillion, but this is yet another pairing where I'm not big on any of the bands.

I only like the first two Voivod albums, and haven't played them in maybe 15 years - Marillion all the way, my Facebook is proof.

Voivod is great and Canadian...but Marillion is Marillion, and at one or two points I joined their fan club, something I've never done with Rush.

Sorry E, but can't stand Hogarth's era, to me Hogarth to Marillion is what Collins was to Genesis.

I always try to find myself, I was near the dressed as a  monk with a red hood (Well, there were a couple).

Hell, dude, I knew of your distaste for Hogarth era Marillion eons ago. We can't agree on everything.

As you well know I am in that camp too but I have always loved your passion for the Hogarth stuff. For that reason alone I would back you anytime in his defense. Approve

VOIVOD. Never really got the huge love for Marillion. I feel like they're a "must have been there" kind of band.

Thanks, guys. I fully suspect it will be Voivod based on what I've heard thus far (and I don't like Marillion much at all), but I want to be sure.

just listened to The Outer Limits.  Good enough, 1 album I like over a group that did none that connected with me (did try 4 back in the day)

Voivod for me!

I'm going to sit this one out.  I'm ambivalent about Marillion (generally negative but can't deny their strong legacy) and have never listened to Voivod and am not really in the mood to start now.

actually Steve.. that is why I haven't voted yet.  I really do not care a single bit for Marillion but really don't know Voivod.  Raff tells me we have some of their stuff, I might take a listen and if I like it. I vote for them, if not.  I'll vote for Marillion for the import/legacy. Not that it really matters.. I'm sure Marillion will walk the dog in this one.

If only you had a video of Paul Sears' Marillion rant!
