National Health recorded a really strong debut album, but Caravan is a prog beast.

Two random guys agreed to shake hands. Just Because. They felt like it, you know. It was an agreement of sorts...a random agreement.

I guess I need to look into some more Caravan. The limited material I've heard isn't even in the same league as National Health.

Thanks for the 'both' option. I love their work equally, even if Caravan have more stuff to enjoy. And I must say that DS al Coda is stronger than Back To Front as far as the early 80's releases go.

National Health for me, I love all of them, whereas Caravan have their moments and much I don't care about. Seems the National Health fans are the noisier bunch - Caravan leads by far in the poll but NH has still a slight majority among those who wrote here.

Both. Caravan is fine in quantity, NH is a quality group and 'Of Queues and Cures' is one of my favourite albums! I really can't compare them.

Caravan edges National Health slightly if only because National Health is only a recent discovery for me.

Not much of a backlog of Nasty Health studio albums to consider this match-up equitable (like there's three of them). But when they were in the zone, Caravan prog rocked suitably enough. Also a little more traditional compared to 'Health's output which I happen to "canter" to (Caravan, that is). I wouldn't recommend most of what they did, though.
