How about another Coltrane selection. A Love Supreme released in 1965. |

1960 was a fine year for Jazz so it's hard to choose one.
The Incredible Jazz Guitar of Wes Montgomery is incredible. There were also major albums that year by Mingus, Ornette Coleman, Coltrane, Monk, Miles Davis, Eric Dolphy, and Max Roach. As I recall from my perspective back in the crib, it wasn't the greatest year for progressive rock. Welcome to the World, Y'all.

In the Wake of Poseidon by King Crimson. Lizard came out the same year too but ITWOP was released the month after I was born so it's closer.

Probably Pink Floyd's Ummagumma, followed by Scott Walker's Scott 4. All of the boxes in my garage are programmed to fart every hour.

Meshuggah's 2006 re-recording of Nothing is probably the best thing that band has made (aside from I, of course).
