I only own one album from my year of birth and that is Time Further Out by Dave Brubeck. Really nice but no idea whether it's 'great'.

Rush’s Signals came out the year I was born and it remains for me one of favorites from them.

The only ones that I would go for, is Cliff Richard and also The Shadows...   Though there were some great singles or hits around when I was born.

Please Please Me  - first Beatles album
Freewheelin' Bob Dylan  - first PROPER Bob Dylan album

Even if there were more to choose from, I'd probably still pick 'Freewheelin'. I think Dylan has only had one truly great album in the past 50 years, but that doesn't lessen what he achieved between 63 and 66.

Know precious little about UFO, although I faintly remember a few vids. Please inform as to its most prog output (best album?).

the OP said it does not have to be prog.

UFO's prog moment? their second album :)
Thanks for the heads up.

Phenomenon is my favorite UFO album, I warmly recommend it as well :)
