What do you think? This poll would be so interesting. I'm a big Rish fan and also an equally big DP fan. DP masterpiece Child in Time or one of the most popular Rush tracks? The choice is on you!
Mine is easily Child in Time.

I don't know, I really like both tracks although neither are my favorites from their respective albums. I'll give the vote to Rush I guess.

"Child In Time". Gillan's vocals on that one, man, just epic.

Let's see, an epic, powerful Purple song or an anemic Rush tune with bad single key synth noodling? Gee, that's a tough one.

Normally I'd vote for Deep Purple, but lately I've actually been listening to the Rush number a lot more.

Another vote for the titanic tonsils of Mr Gillan. Not to mention Jon Lord ever so gently fingering his organ.

Child in Time, easily, for me. Though I'm thinking about the Made in Japan version.

And not to forget Blackmore's epic guitar solo.

Barchetta, easily. Although, Child In Time is a great song.
Kinda silly to try to compare these two songs though

Love both bands, but Child In Time is a much better song than Red Barchetta.

With science, you can turn a frog into a Ph.D. and you still have the frog you started with. |
