 Great symphonic Prog Metal from Italy led by one of the worlds great Guitar wonders.  Stephan Forte.

They also just came out with an even more progressive album entitled Underworld

I guess they are from France, not Italy. I have only their last album, Underworld. very reminiscent to Symphony X, but I like it.

Yah, I think you are right, though a couple of the members are from German bands. 

I like Santus Ignus a little better you might want to check it out.
