In order to generate the optimum number of polls (we don't have enough of them, do we? Wink) I decided to split up the redemption round into two parts. I'll only allow one band to have two albums in the semifinals, so this one has albums ending up in third place from bands that already have an album in the semifinals (ELP - Pictures at an Exhibition, Genesis Live, King Crimson - USA, Tangerine Dream - Ricochet and Magma - Live/Hhai), and only one of these can qualify. There will be another redemption round finding one winner of all the other albums ending up third.
Actually TD - Encore drew with Henry Cow for second place but I promoted Henry Cow to the semis because TD - Ricochet is through, too, so Encore ended up here.

ELP...Seconds Out is great, but I much prefer the Pittsburgh radio simulcast of the ToTT tour so this document of ELP at the height of their power wins it for me...

5 albums I don't own.... only have heard the first 2;........other than a few classic rock things like Get Your Ya Yas Out by The Stones and Fillmore East by The Allman Bros I never really paid much attention to live albums.
To me live is being at the show.

This, I love Retrospectiw I-II. That said, Tangerine Dream's Encore is also wonderful. I'd be happy to see either release top this poll, though I don't see it happening.

The only other album of these I've heard in full is Seconds Out.

Welcome Back... is one of my favorite live records.

The ONLY reason I did not vote for Encore over that one is because, as we all know, Encore isn't truly 100% live.

Since KC seems to be out of the running ill vote for Magma.

I'll be the outlier, Absent Lovers...
He neither drank, smoked, nor rode a bicycle. Living frugally, saving his money, he died early, surrounded by greedy relatives. It was a great lesson to me -- John Barrymore

The version of Take A Pebble on "Welcome Back" is great, but I will go with Absent Lovers. I think the 80s-era Crimson with Belew is up there with the earlier Bruford-Wetton lineup, and Absent Lovers contains some versions better than the studio albums.

^ I prefer very much the live versions of the 80's songs played by the double trio in the 90's. I guess the best choice for a live album of that line-up would be Vroom Vroom. If that were the album being voted here, it might actually be the one I would go for, but not for Absent Lovers.
