The one and only, the greatest voice of them all and the most poigenant and important person of female voices in music.
there will never be another force quite like Aretha Franklin, she was empowering to many generations of black, female, male to most human singers whom aproached the mikrophone. With such calm demeanor yet also wigh such force of persobality and voice, few will ever carry such a force of voice "the Voice of her Time".

Thank you for the inspiration Aretha Franklin

In accordance with others saying how great she was.
It's a cliche but we seriously aren't seeing, so will never see or hear a voice of pure soul that uplifts even if only heard switching radio channels again.

"Hey Nineteen
That's 'Retha Franklin
She don't remember
The Queen of Soul
It's hard times befallen
The Soul Survivors
She thinks I'm crazy
But I'm just growing old"

RIP Aretha!

This from Quincy Jones express her position better than lost i think.

"From the time that Dinah Washington first told me that Aretha was the 'next one' when she was 12-years old until the present day, Aretha Franklin set the bar upon which every female singer has and will be measured. And she did it with the professionalism, class, grace and humility that only a true Queen could. I treasured every moment that we spent together from working in the recording studio, to performing on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, or simply hanging in the kitchen, and I will miss her dearly. RIP Ree-Ree. You will reign as the Queen forever." — Quincy Jones, in a statement.
