I think TR is a very creative person who deserves the recognition (not that I pay attention to the actual award). Saying this, for me his best work was in the 1973-1975 period, with Wizard/ATS and the first Utopia album his very best albums. After that, he seemed to lose some of the energy and inspiration that drove these two great albums, although he still remained creative and unique throughout his career. Even Utopia drifted away from the intense musicality on that first album.

It's about darn time he was nominated! Just One Victory is one of the greatest songs ever made.

This is not only my favorite Todd Rundgren album but it is one of my favorite albums of all time.  The cover scares many away (and with good reason).  This album is dripping with the feel of the early 70s.  If it's your cup of tea take a few hits on a bong and give this one a listen (at least side one) and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Roxy Music definitely, but those who run the hall of shame may try and stop it because of pressure from the #meToo movement due to some of their album covers because once again, a great movement at the beginning has been taken over by radicals, in this case, female chauvinistic male bashing Feminists and now is preaching "Toxic Masculinity" and "always belief the woman"

I'm surprised he hasn't been elected because of his anti-conservative hatred given the elitist socialists who run the hall of shame,

These same people who will elect some obscure punk band with one or two recordings because of their politics,

or Rap artists that even Jazz musicians have trouble putting any musical integrity to brain dead music and lyrics that are often more sillier than joke heavy metal band lyrics like Spinal Tap by of the symbolism and racism that because it it Black, it has to be good,

but for years kept out bands like KISS, Deep Purple, Yes, where it was only the public vote that put these bands in.

The reason you have disco artists in is for the same symbolism of music made by marginalized groups and pressure by powerful activist groups, especially the current privileged group, homosexuals, who are in almost any movies and tv shows today when often there is no reason for homosexual kissing and love-making except for "diversity" purposes, even though the music and lyrics themselves were of the same mentality that white heterosexual male country music gets castigated for

"Hello it's Me" was originally a Nazz (TR's first band) song that went nowhere in '68 until he re-recorded it in '72 as a solo track - then it became huge (and highly irritating to me as well).  You're really missing out if you judge his whole output on this one piece of pop fluffery!  The 2nd Nazz album (Nazz Nazz) in '69 is a cool mix of '60's garage pop, proto prog and the great rocker Under the Ice.  For his proggiest stuff, look to Utopia.  They were a great band, I prefer their '76 to '82 lineup with keyboard monster Roger Powell.  I like Ra & Oops! Wrong Planet best followed by Adventures in Utopia.  After that they went much more mainstream with not much prog to be found.  This lineup put out a great mix of prog, hard rock, and a bit of happy pop, but mostly excellent stuff Wink

Refreshing news out of the Rock and Hole Hall of Shame. Todd deserves it no matter who he is ahead of or behind.

I seriously hate the RRHOF. I mean, the museum part is cool, I bet...but do these musicians need more trophies?

Don't give a monkeys about the R&RHOF tho'.. sorry.

With all due respect, I think that TR is probably one of the best in that list. heck, I still have all his albums up until the Utopia stuff and the Eyecon thing. And I like them!

I'll vote for Todd as well as The Zombies, Roxy Music, and Kraftwerk. Somehow we need to have King Crimson and Kansas voted in.

Hi,

Hmmmm ... it will make his ego even bigger and have him take even more pot shots at Mr. Conservative that he has had fights with for years!

Oh well ... the presenter will have to be his nemesis, or it's not worth the price of admission! And then, they kiss and make up and play a set together and proceed to destroy each other's songs ... can you imagine Black Mariah with a screaming guitar, or Hello, It's Me with a loud bashing guitar laughing at the song ... or on the other hand ... a boring bass beat destroyed by the ...................

Maybe TR won't ruin XTC's album this time, except for one song!

Todd is overdue, and this weekend I'm dressing up as "The Man in the Tin-foil Hat". Appropriate for the mid-terms as well as Halloween!
