Pick your favourite or pick your nose.
It was PFM (Italy) vs. Focus (Netherlands) in the poll that my poll is based on. |

I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect. |

Area. Btw PFM are overrated. Le Orme all the way

All I like is prog related bands beginning late 60's/early 70's. Their music from 1968 - 83 has the composition and sound which will never be beaten. Perfect blend of jazz, classical, folk and rock.

I like PFM and especially Focus, but don't know anything about these bands so currently picking my nose(needed to do that anyway). Like the poll idea though.

He neither drank, smoked, nor rode a bicycle. Living frugally, saving his money, he died early, surrounded by greedy relatives. It was a great lesson to me -- John Barrymore

Oh dang that's a tricky one. I have a lot of love for both - and they have this out-of-control-like creativity about their approach to making music that occasionally goes "wrong" (but not really wrong) that I sympathize with. I guess Area wins for "artistic achievement" but Supersister wins for "warm and playful charm" - which is equally important to me. I know I would have had a hard time with Area if they sung in some language I understood as I'm about as fond of communist ideology as I am of nazism/islamism/fascism... I also to be forgiving/understandig about it as the 1970's was a different time - who knows maybe back then I could have believed in the same things as Mr. Stratos did. But after a little back and fourth I landed on the Dutch guys (they deserve more votes as well) - who were equally early on with the Canterbury-sound as the Canterbury-bands.

I've never heard of either of those, so I'm pitting Arena vs. Supertramp.
Arena wins (though I like Supertramp's first).

and if she looks great in a skimpy chicken outfit as my imagination is running wild with as I type... well... as we are on a prog forum.. not my sexual deviancy forum ... I'd still vote for Area..music is one thing.. but chicks as chicks is quite another....
