I've noticed that Ars Nova (US) isn't in the archives.  They released two albums on Elektra in 1968 and 1969, their eponymous debut was produced by Paul Rothchild and "Sunshine and Shadows," was their second.  Not sure where they fit (prog/folk? perhaps, or psych/prog? or?).

They once opened for The Doors and were garnered a profile in Life Magazine.

For ease of entry, here is "Pavan for My Lady," and "Zarathustra," from the first LP, and the title track from the second from YT.

a proper blend of psychedelic and folk music
but when it comes to prog rock they don't have any horses in the race ...

That's why I was thinking maybe Prog/Folk.  They certainly were very psychedelic and classically trained as well.
