Which one do you like the most ?
I love both for their symphonic rock sound, their lyrics and etc...

I'll have to vote for The Moody Blues, though I love the early Kansas albums very much.

The Moody Blues. There are many more albums and songs I care about. I could live the rest of my life without hearing another Kansas song, that is not so with the Magnificent Moodies.

For once, a poll that didn't make me squirm in agony. Moody Blues by far.

I'm going with Kansas here mostly because it sounds less dated to me, but I have been known to be a big fan of the Moodies too.

Never warmed up to either of them...
He neither drank, smoked, nor rode a bicycle. Living frugally, saving his money, he died early, surrounded by greedy relatives. It was a great lesson to me -- John Barrymore

I like both bands a lot but I bit the bullet and voted for the Moodies. The strange thing is I only saw the Moodies once but saw Kansas twice. Still, I think the Moodies had a slightly longer run of great albums. Both bands were capable of going deeper than your average rock band though and really coming up with great stuff. For me Kansas were closer to true prog(or actually were true prog)where as the Moodies never quite got there(imo)but this poll didn't say which one do you like better as a prog band so I won't judge them that way for the purposes of this poll. I do consider the Moodies prog related, art rock or proto prog though so close enough I suppose.

I do like some Kansas, and believe I should get to know them better, specially the 70's stuff. But I think The Moody Blues are more special.

Kansas are still going and doing good things , last two releases (one live) have been really pleasing and the first five Kansas albums really makes me like them a lot.  I vote for Kansas but respect The Moody Blues also.

Another vote goes to the Moodies. My favourite Kansas album (Leftoverture) doesn’t even come close to my favourite Moodies album (Lost Chord).
