I'm an idiot with genres but Crossover seems to be pretty much exactly what this is.

R Swan is me. Ustad Awalmir and his work inspired me to start making music, and so I've been making music since I was 16 and first got my hands on a MIDI sequencer. I'm completely self-taught in terms of everything, learning entirely from the noises I could get out of the sequencer. Being heavily into 70's electronic music I ended up getting into analog synthesizers, and going from there I eventually discovered progressive rock, where I found my home both as a composer and a listener. I was in Tidal Force for a while (as a founding member) but the band split up eventually.

I work entirely with instrumental music, my main concern being able to convey something without having to resort to words. The music is mostly mellow, but does get aggressive at times. My influences are Magma, Tangerine Dream, Mike Oldfield, and, of course, Ustad Awalmir. Mike Oldfield is the one I get compared to the most by others. (That's partially why I settled on Crossover for the genre.)

Recommended listening:

Ni'andeisork (2011)
Heirazzin (2013)
Hakenecho (2014)
Hierorts (2017)

Finally had the time to check him out! I dig him so far. Gonna keep digging deeper into his stuff. More structure than melody but I like this. Paints some good pictures with the sounds. I'm more on the straight up melodic/leitmotif-y side.

Any updates on how it's proceeding?
