Yesterday, I started a Close To The Edge vs Supper's Ready poll, and at present, somewhat surprisingly, Supper's Ready is leading. I'm wondering if this lead will translate to their respective albums.

Foxtrot is the best album of all time so uhhhh... first vote for Foxtrot

I think close to the edge is an easy 5 star album, but I also think every song on Foxtrot is better than every song on Close to the Edge (With the exception of Horizons). That's how much I think Foxtrot runs away with it. Close to the Edge vs Selling England, now that one would be a lot closer.

CttE, but Foxtrot is also a masterpiece.

As I said on the previous poll, Foxtrot is my least favorite of the classic PG-era albums, yet I still think it a great five star album. Overall, I prefer CttE.

Foxtrot. If it was going against Fragile, would be a tough call. I mean this one is too.. but that really would be, for me.

CTTE for me. The only real standouts on Foxtrot are Supper's Ready and Watcher of the Skies. The rest? Meh. Actually, I take that back since horizons is nice. The rest could have been outtakes from Nursery Cryme.

Foxtrot, without a doubt.

CTTE only has one good track.

CTTE has the greatest prog song of all time on it (and it's not the title track) so that get's my vote.

Foxtrot.

Broadly agree with this view.  I wouldn't perhaps say "Meh" about the rest of Foxtrot.  It's a five star album and a prog rock classic, but CTTE is 100/100 for me, it is pure perfection, whereas some of the other tracks on Foxtrot are good but not perfect and the album is maybe 96/100

If it’s genesis against yes 99% of the time I’ll always choose genesis just cause I prefer their sound. Both bands are in my top 5 but genesis is perpetually going to be number one by a big margin for me.

I suppose it gets down to Close To The Edge (the song) versus Supper's Ready and the choice is not clear cut at all, as both are Iconic Prog Masterpieces. My favorite part of Supper's Ready though is Apocalyse in 9/8; without that part Supper's Ready falls a bit short for me. As opposed to CTTE, the entirety almost has no segments to stand alone in my book. CTTE by a nostril hair.
