So here we have a bit underrated band, hardly known outside prog rock circles. Many times I've seen them being rejected for blatant King Crimson's worship, if not plagiarism - but I tend to disagree. While KC undertones are definitely there, the Swedes managed to carve out a pretty original niche in progressive realm, even though hues of melancholy and despair are the most common in their pallette. So what album do you consider your favorite, and for what reasons? Happy Halloween, Ladies and Gentlemen. :)

Big fan of this group. Hard to pick. Went with A Time of Day, but could have easily picked the two albums surrounding it.

I've only heard the first two and the last one, so no vote at this time.

Love them all, especially since "From Within". Voted for their most recent, "Until All The Ghosts Are Gone" but could live with voting for any of them. One of my favorite groups!

This is one of those bands I really wish I had taken more notice of in their early days. I knew about Anglagard but somehow Anekdoten passed me by. What I've heard is interesting and would like to explore more but it's quite hard getting hold of their stuff for reasonable prices. Unfortunately I don't know enough therefore to vote but I will be interested to see what tops the poll.

Vemod still gets my vote, but Nucleus & Ghosts are right behind it Next is Within Gravity and Time are their weakest era, IMHO, though the ormer has climbed back up in my opinion, while the later has dropped somewhat. |

I second that. Great band, great albums, and fantastic music. From Within is probably my favorite, but love them all.

I don't know them that well but I always thought Vemod was great. I'd say it's a real classic from the 90's along with hybris.

From Within is probably my favorite, but all of their albums are so consistently great, so I won't vote.

I only have the last one. I have known about them since well before that one, but I only got to get an album from them until that one was released. I should really get something more, since I really liked that album.

Vemod. I think all the 90s albums are on a similar level, but Vemod had the right balance of ingredients. Nucleus tends to be the most kinetic, From Within is full of despair, Gravity has to be the softest... while Vemod had it all. And that album cover, it's perfect really. Until All the Ghosts Are Gone was a powerful offering as well and I feel they gave up on the "emo" side and returned to eeriness, which I adore. I need to spend more time with A Time of Day though.

Their latest album is available on Bandcamp for a friendly price. Until All the Ghosts Are Gone > A Time of Day > Gravity > Vemod > From Within >= Nucleus All 4/5 or more.
